Summer plans

We have a very busy summer ahead of us. Sports started last week and they are in full swing now. Games start the first week of May. I can't wait! We go to lots of Rockies games over the summer so that will be another fun event.(: We do lots of running around between me and my two brothers for our sports. But my Mama is Wonder Woman and she can do it like a pro!
On May 22nd the day after school gets out we are flying to Oregon and we're going to stay there for 2 weeks. We fly out at 5:20am so we will have to get up at about 2am. What fun!(: We leave in exactly 1 month. I am so very excited! Me and my brothers are flying alone its not considered unaccompanied minor because I'm 13. My mom will still be able to walk us to the boarding gate.
This will be our 3rd year going to Oregon. My dad lives in Beaverton. Its a beautiful town and he lives in a gated community and there is a pool a gym, and a bunch of indoor and outdoor courts. When its nice out we drive the golf cart to the pool and hang out there for a while. Last summer when we went we went to an Aviation Museum. It had a bunch of airplanes that have very cool stories behind them. We also go to the beach. A very pretty beach town that we went to last time was called Seaside. We absolutely love it there!
There is the Nike Headquarters right down the road. They do tours around the campus and they also have a lot of new items that you can buy at a low price before they even hit the racks. Every Saturday they have a sale where you can get a bunch of custom decorations and me and my step mom love going to that. They have one dog now named Cooper and its a yellow lab. They adopted a German Shepard, Dexter 3 years ago and just about 2 weeks ago they came home to him having a seizure. We are very saddened by that because he was such a good dog.
We are also planning to make a trip up to North Dakota. We will probably go up there around the last two weeks of July. My uncle has a farm so we are also busy helping him out. I hangout with my Grandma. We will go out to lunch and go to the flower shop. I love spending time with her. Sometimes I will mow her lawn or water her flowers. Clearly, we are going to have a very busy summer.

Volleyball

Volleyball is my all time favorite sport. I've played since I was 7. I was always inspired by my cousin who played a club team. She was amazing. I live to be better every year I play. My favorite position is middle back and outside. When I'm on the court I feel so inspired to do my best because I know that I inspire my younger cousins. They usually come to a lot of my sporting events.
My family is my support system and they are always they for me when I get nervous to go play. My aunt and uncle came here from Texas just to watch me play on of my last games I played this season. I know that they are always there to see me and do whatever they can to comfort me. My brothers like to play mini tournaments with me and my cousins. They think that they are so cool when they spike it over and we fall. But I love them to death and they are always there to see me play.(:
My Mama is my favorite person in the whole wide world. She inspires me because her varsity volleyball team went to state all for years she played. She knows her volleyball. That's for sure! She has helped me better myself through out the years I've played. When she told me that she made varsity her freshman year made me feel like I can do the same. My mom is always there for me and is always helping me be a better player.
This volleyball seasons was by far my favorite. I had a very good coach who cared so much about us. I was on A team this year. I loved my team and we played so well together and got along great. I hope that we all get on the same team next year too because we played amazing together. When one of us would mess up we were never negative. We were always there to say "Hey! You'll get it next time!"
Every year I play my team feels more like a family. I love that feeling. It makes me feel like if I have anything to say they are always there to talk about it with me. Or even laugh about the crazy things or ideas we have or do. Clearly, like I said I want to be this close with my team every year and I hope to always have the funny team I've always had.

Softball

Softball

Image result for jennie finch                  Softball is one of my favorite sports. I have played since I was 8. I have such a big passion for this sport. I have many positions. One of my favorites is behind the plate because it is so intense and I love that! I also play first. First gets lots of action. When the ball is hit the fielders are to get the ball to the first baseman. So the out is executed. I love those two positions and I work very hard to get starter.
One of my biggest inspirations is Jennie Finch. She is also a first baseman. She has training videos and I have learned so much from her. She is amazing! Her videos show positioning while you waiting for the ball to be hit. She played for University of Arizona. I have watched her play before when we went to visit my grandparents. She is a right handed batter. She can also hit with her left hand. One of my goals in the off season was to get comfortable with bunting and hitting right and left. I was able to accomplish that goal.
I had my first practice of the season on Monday. My coaches name is Carson. She is such a good coach because she is fresh out of college softball. She has also played for 15 years. She has played many positions and knows a lot about them. Last night we were hitting off of the pitching machine and the speed of the ball coming off of that wheel is 45 mph. That's fast! Some of us can from 12u where the speed was only 30-35. So we went up about 15 mph in the matter of a year. She was very patient with us since she knew it was a big transition. I'm so extremely grateful to have her as my coach this year.
One of my coaches from previous years is Jennifer Cook. I absolutely love her shes such an inspiration. She played all of her life. She grew up out here so she knows her players pretty well. She is very positive and never doubts anything you put your heart to. I want to be like her when I'm older because she is a good coach and lots of kids request to have her as a coach because she loves the sport so much.
Lastly, I'm so pumped for this upcoming season. I have waited a whole year to play again. Our first game is the first week of May. We have a few more weeks to practice but I think my team will go onto that field and rock it. We haven't had a practice yet where everyone has all made it but were hoping everyone will make it tonight.

Decorating

Decorating

Decorating has always been a passion and hobby of mine. It always gives me something to do while I'm bored. I always love refinishing things and re-arranging of furniture and photos. I love doing crafty things because it gives me a way to brighten up a room with simple and easy projects. Decorating also gives me a challenge of making my new project better than the last one. That is what makes me succeed at this passion of mine. I am very dedicated to it and I plan on even starting to sell some of the things I do.

One of my favorite things that I have refinished is a desk that my mom wanted to be a color that matches the guest room. I was up for the challenge. I got the idea of the finish on Pinterest. I fell in love with it! Then we had a bunch of handles from another project. We had to sand the desk so that the paint would stay on. Finally, it was time to paint. The paint went on like a dream. While it dried I decide it needed something else. We were at a garage sale a week before and we found this cute little pitcher. It was perfect for the side of the table. I made a small burlap flower to go inside of the pitcher. Then I put a few pieces of wood next to it. I put the handles back on it and it was all done! I love this desk. And we always get complements on it. I am proud of myself for doing such a good job on this.

An outdoor piece that I did last summer was a pallet american flag. I found this idea also on Pintrest. It was perfect for out by our garden shed. We were holding a 4th of July party so I figured this was perfect. We had pallets from when we had our tile put in our house. I went to the shed got it out and put a tarp under it. I had paint from another project I did. I got everything taped and then I started painting. After it finished drying I found a star. We always have Texas stars around our house so I put that on there.

I recently just recovered a bunch of throw pillows for our guest room. They are so cute! The theme of the room is burlap and chevron. I found a video on Pintrest of a lady who didn't have to do anything to put this all together except for a knot at the middle. I didn't want anything to do sewing the edges of the wrap so this was perfect. All that I had to do was get a pillow that we wanted to change the print of. It was a super easy project and it works with any type of throw pillow. I got my fabric from Michael's. It wasn't expensive at all! Clearly, the smallest items can spice up any room.

I want to do this next because it is a cute little coffee nook that you could put in a kitchen. We have a Keurig that would fit perfectly on here and it would hold the little cup spinner. I love when things have the worn out look. It gives it more character and it will go along with the accents in our kitchen. I think I can find a similar stand like this on a buy, sell, trade site. It will take some searching but I'm up for the job. Clearly, I hope to get this one done here in the next month or so.
